Before enlarging: what it really changes

A papercraft alpaca mask that draws every eye

High in the Andes, the alpaca is more than just an animal. It is a symbol. Gentle and proud at the same time. This papercraft alpaca mask draws on that imagery to create a wall sculpture with strong, confident geometry. Sharp angles, taut lines, powerful volumes: every fold reveals a little more of the animal’s character.

Once completed, the mask boasts impressive dimensions: 60 cm high, 26 cm wide and 40 cm deep. Displayed as a standalone piece or mounted on the wall, it instantly transforms the space. Modern, bold, almost hypnotic.

A rhythmic and rewarding creative project

The template consists of 21 sheets to print and 42 pieces to assemble. Construction requires precision, a bit of patience, and above all the desire to take your time. Expect several hours of building as the alpaca gradually takes shape, facet by facet.

The model is designed to be made using a single paper color. Bright white, deep black, natural tones or vibrant hues: the choice is yours. Each color changes the perception of the volumes and gives the mask a unique personality.

A statement piece for 3D origami enthusiasts

This 3D origami mask is aimed at creators who enjoy structured, visually striking projects. The medium difficulty level offers the perfect balance: technical enough to be engaging, without ever becoming discouraging.

The pattern is super cute and easy to print and assemble. I chose to buy a scoring board on Amazon and I simply used scissors with double-sided adhesive tape and it turned out great. My criticism is that the neck hole is small. I made it so my 8-year-old son could wear it during a parade, he had trouble putting it on and his nose was crushed. We also had to cut paper so the eye holes would be more usable. At the end of the very short parade, there were obvious tears on the face. There was no way it could fit on an adult's head. Maybe a more experienced user could scale the print, but I didn't know in advance what I would need (he is 8 years old) and it obviously wasn't too small until it was completely assembled.

Incredible engineering. Certainly takes some time to build, but has a major impact once you see it. Took about 6 hours with 2 people working together. We had to go down from A4 to 8,5x11 and it still worked very well. We used card stock and it was a good weight. We had to print on white paper and glue to the card stock since we used dark colors. Excellent product! And a fun project! We used it as a Halloween costume for Kuzco from Emperor’s New Groove.

The finished product received a lot of compliments and is now in the apartment as an enigmatic sculpture. I like the fact that it requires no shipping and that it can be made with recyclable materials. Do not underestimate the time it takes to assemble (about a working day for me!). Thank you.

Look, it’s delicate. And as the previous reviews mentioned, it takes hours to build ... BUT it’s just as good as it looks. How was it even thought up?! It’s an incredible piece and it looks great!

It wasn’t an easy craft and took two adults working together for a few regular hours, but it was worth it and a lot of fun to do. We ended up using 120 gram paper and it worked well, but I would definitely recommend others to use 160 gram paper or heavier for this, because it adds a lot of durability. I will definitely keep an eye on the new models!

My Lama head stole the show! We won the best group costume at work! Easy to assemble with very clear directions.
